MemSQL Cloud Overview

MemSQL Cloud is a fully-managed service that provides all of MemSQL’s real-time database and data warehouse capabilities in the cloud. MemSQL Cloud is ideal for users that want to deploy MemSQL in an environment with managed infrastructure that includes automatic cluster maintenance, software updates, database backups, and more.

If you are unfamiliar with MemSQL, see the How MemSQL Works topic.

Each MemSQL Cloud account is assigned its own virtual private cloud (VPC), ensuring that each cluster within that account is isolated from any other account’s activity or data. All production and backup data is encrypted using industry-standard mechanisms. Access to each cluster is controlled by Security Groups, which consist of one or more IP address ranges that allow connections within the specified range and block all other traffic. SSL is supported for connections to your cluster, and is enabled by default for the primary administrator user.

MemSQL Cloud Console

The MemSQL Cloud Console provides browser-based management capabilities for your organization’s clusters, security groups, billing information, and more. You can also view comprehensive metrics about your cluster, such as resource utilization, throughput, latency, and database connections. Click here to go to the MemSQL Cloud Console.

Connect to Third-Party Applications

MemSQL Cloud databases are compatible with many different third-party applications and services, such as ETL and business intelligence tools. You can easily connect your database to popular applications like Tableau, Looker, Zoomdata, Informatica Cloud, Data Virtuality, Talend and more. See the Connecting to a Cloud Cluster topic for more information.

Cluster Resource Tiers

Clusters in MemSQL Cloud are offered in tiers that correspond to the amount of available system resources and storage. Each tier is comprised of one or more MemSQL Cloud Units, and a single unit provides 2TB of disk storage. There are multiple tiers available to meet the demands of your workload, and each tier provides twice as many units as the next smallest tier. You can also request a larger cluster size by contacting us.

Cluster Size Number of Units Storage
Small (S) 1 2TB
Medium (M) 2 4TB
Large (L) 4 8TB
Extra Large (XL) 8 16TB

For any cluster size larger than XL, please contact us for more information.
